Ronin De Goede

Dutch analogue photographer and printer

Ronin de Goede is a contemporary Dutch analogue photographer and printer, known for his intimate, high-contrast black-and-white imagery. His work is deeply informed by Japanese (sub)culture, including traditional Japanese tattooing and fetish culture, which he approaches with immersion and respect.

Alongside his autonomous artistic practice, Ronin has contributed photographic work to some of the world’s most respected publishers. He rarely speaks at length about his own work, preferring to leave space for ambiguity and an open, expansive experience rather than fixed definitions. As Samuel Beckett wrote, “Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.”

His photographs have appeared in publications by leading international publishers. He is currently represented by Ibasho Gallery (Antwerp) and Zen Foto Gallery (Tokyo).
