Gavin Bragdon

American Street & Documentary Photographer

Originally from New Hampshire, Gavin has spent his life crisscrossing the Atlantic between the US and Europe. It was in Edinburgh in 2011 that, along with brother Gareth, he picked up photography.  That in and of itself was compelling enough, but it was the discovery of street photography that turned it into not only an addiction but his raison d'etre. It wasn't just the pursuit of decisive moments that attracted him, but also using the camera to reveal a world slightly stranger and more surreal than the one we perceive with our own eyes. 

 His brother Gareth took up the same pursuit and they often work together as The Bragdon Brothers. They published their first monograph, Phantasmagoria, in 2025 via Eyeshot Magazine. 

 After over a decade of documenting the streets of Edinburgh and elsewhere in Europe, circumstances once again brought Gavin back overseas.  Currently based in between Baltimore and Washington DC, he uses photography to document a strange country in strange times.
